About Us

Lee and Partners has a long and prestigious history.

From 1959 to 1970 Lance Lee was a senior partner in the firm of Roder, Dunstan & Lee. Lance was a well known community identity in Brighton, having lived in Brighton since 1942, played football and cricket in the district. His popularity ensured that Roder, Dunstan and Lee and its successors remained successful.

In 1962 John Herbert Roder undertook a Master of Town Planning degree at the University of Adelaide and became chairman of the Planning Appeal Board and then Tribunal, from 1967-94.

In or about 1970 the firm became Dunstan, Lee, Taylor & Lynch. In approximately 1980, with Don Dunstan busy with his political career, the partners went their separate ways. The firms Lynch Meyer and Lee & Partners were formed.

Donald McRae Bentley commenced working as a solicitor at Lee & Partners in 1991. In 1999 he formed his own firm D.M. Bentley & Associates and practised in the Burnside and Glen Osmond areas. Now Donald is the principal of Lee & Partners incorporating DM Bentley & Associates.

Julie-Ann Simkin commenced practising in 1990, working primarily in the family and testamentary law areas. She has acted in complex property settlement and children’s matters, and has extensive experience in negotiating Consent Order and Binding Financial Agreements. Julie-Ann is also able to assist and advise in regard to the preparation of Wills, Powers of Attorney and Advanced Care Directives together with obtaining Grants of Probate and other estate matters.

Lee & Partners has offices at Brighton and Glen Osmond. Our Brighton office at 507 Brighton Road (corner of Strathmore Terrace) is the old Police Station Building which was built in 1906.
